A Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Wilhelm Kober of Suhl. This one came the vet's family last week. Never been cleaned, never been apart a virgin. The blade on this one looks good. The crossgrain is stunning running the blades full length, the fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The dark acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and 'Wilhelm Kober & Co Suhl" maker mark are both beautifully executed, nice and dark! Just a wee bits of age where the runners rested for the past 80 years. I have NOT tried to clean. The blade rates NM. The brown anodized scabbard looks great with 90%+ of its original lacquer still intact! The solid nickel scabbard fittings are in great shape just minor wear. The ball is near perfect mwith just a bit of a flat to bottom. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards are in near perfect condition and match the scabbard fittings in color and wear. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Th" (Thuringen). The grip / crossguard fits are perfect! The factory lacquered blonde oak hardwood grip is drop dead gorgeous. No chips, cracks or splits! The correct solid nickel eagle is perfect, retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 99% of its enamel. Overall this piece is looks great and will look great in your collection!
