A Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by RZM M7/56 1938 - C. D. Schaaff of Solingen. A rare later 1938 variation maker mark. The thick ricassoed blade on this one looks good. The stamped “RZM M7/56 1938” maker mark is perfectly executed. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates Exc+. It has been sharpened, cleaned and there is spotting, age grey and scratches throughout. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The sheet metal based black recently repainted scabbard is in great condition. It remains completely dent-free. It has two runners. The brown scabbard leather has been recently treated and is in good condition. It has all of its rivets intact. The snap continues to work well. The end of the female portion of the strap has broke off. There are cracks throughout the stress points. The iron-based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 90%+ of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite. The reverse plate has been recently repaired. Both solid steel rivets remain tightly secured. The large HJ diamond retains 95%+ of its enamel. Partially restored. A rarer maker mark.
