United States, WWII – Army Air Force Gunner Wing by “A.E. Co.” – American Emblem Co. of Utica, New York. Authorized April 1943. Constructed out of an injection molded sterling silver base that has been chemically burnished and lacquered. The obverse features a downward pointing winged bomb on top of a winged target. The semi-full back reverse is marked “Sterling A.E. Co. Utica N.Y.”. The butterfly clutch pin backs are sterling and patent marked. It measures 3 1/16 inches wide by 15/16 of an inch tall.
