Personalized - Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by RZM M7/65 – Carl Heidelberg of Solingen. Based on construction this piece was constructed around 1936/37. The ricassoed blade on this one looks excellent. The stamped “RZM M7/65” RZM mark and “Carl Heidelberg Solingen” maker mark are both beautifully executed. The unique “Blut und Ehre!” Looped Motto is beautiful, rare and a textbook feature for Heidelberg. Traces of crossgrain remain and are visible as you shine it in the light. The tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc++/NM. It has scratches and minor spotting throughout along with one rough area to the cutting edge. The original leather buffer remains intact. The scabbard is sheet metal based and black enamel painted. 75% of the painted coverage remains intact. The reverse has a hand scratched in personalization which reads: “HANS”. It continues to remain dent free. It has two scabbard runners. The black/brown scabbard leather is in great condition. It has all of its rivets intact and the “Hannia Hannia” marked snap continues to work well. The hilt is iron-based and nickel-silver plated. The hilt has lost the majority of its plating and has since been cleaned. The black checkered bakelite grip plates are in perfect condition. The small HJ diamond retains 95%+ of its enamel with minor discoloration. Textbook construction, features and die flaws.
