Early Hitler Youth Knife by J.A. Henckles
Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by J.A. Henckles of Solingen. The blade on this one is in fair condition. The stamped twins “J.A. Henckles Solingen Zwillingswerk” maker mark and “Ges. Geschützt” law protection mark are both nicely executed. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto remains 70% intact. The tip comes to a sharp point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates Exc. It has been sharpened and re-shaped leaving heavy scratches throughout. The buffer pad is lost to time. The steel based black re-painted scabbard is in excellent condition. It remains completely dent free. The brown scabbard leather is in great condition. It is “LFS” marked. It has all of its rivets intact and the snap continues to work well. The iron based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 95%+ of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite. Both solid nickel-silver rivets remain tightly secured. The small HJ diamond retains 99% of its enamel.
