Rare - Earliest Hitler Youth Knife by Carl Linder

A Rare, Earliest Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Carl Linder of Solingen-Merscheid. Based on construction this piece can be dated to 1933-34. This piece is extremely rare. It is the only one I've ever owned and the fourth I’ve seen. Also, this specific maker mark variant is the only one I’ve ever seen. The blade on this one is in excellent condition. The stamped “Carl Linder Merscheid-Solingen” maker mark and “Ges. Geschützt” patent mark are both crisp and beautifully executed. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto is gorgeous. The crossgrain is easily visible as you shine it in the light. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight, just as it should be. The blade rates Exc++. There are heavy scratches and typical age greying throughout. The cutting edge has been ever-so-slightly sharpened. The original brown tanned leather buffer pad remains intact. The sheet metal based black enamel painted scabbard is in wonderful condition. It has some minor scratches. It retains 98% paint coverage. There is a wee bump to the very bottom. It has one small scabbard runner. The brown scabbard leather is in excellent condition. There is a superficial crack to the end. It has all of its rivets intact and the snap continues to work well. The iron-based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 99%+ of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite and remain in perfect condition. Both solid nickel-silver rivets remain tightly secured. The medium HJ diamond retains 99% of its enamel. It is very rare to find these earliest era pieces in such nice condition! Previously in my personal collection.
