Second Pattern (c.1937-39) - Reichsarbeitsdienst der weiblichen Jugend Brosche in Silber für Maidenführin by Paulmann & Crone of Lüdenscheid 1937. Introduced sometime after the mandatory six-month conscription in June 26, 1935, the second pattern membership brooches were awarded to those who had completed one year service in a leadership position (silver Maidenführin and gold Lagerführin). It is constructed out of a die stamped aluminum/cupal base that has been silver washed. The round shaped obverse depicts the RADwJ emblem (a mobile swastika above two sheaths of wheat), on a pebbled background, surrounded by: “Reichsarbeitsdienst Weibliche Jugend”. The semi-hollow back reverse is marked with: the maker mark “PuC” (within a diamond), “37” (1937), “RADJ” (within a downward pointing triangle) and “Ges. Gesch.” (patent marked). It also features a horizontally crimped-on well working pin, hinge and catch assembly. It measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter.
