A Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Otto Simon of Steinbach. A nice dark motto from a maker 9 on the McSaar rarity scale. The blade on this one has a dark and deep acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and maker mark both beautifully executed! The crossgrain is still visible as you turn this in the sun! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. There is some scratches next to the maker mark where it looks like someone tried to clean this. There is some spotting. The blade rates an Exc+. The brown anodized scabbard looks good! It has minor oxidization and the finish is thinning. It continues to remain completely dent free. The solid nickel scabbard fittings and crossguards are in excellent condition and match in color and wear. The ball is banged in. All four screws remain intact. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "BO" Bayerische Ostmark (always in capital letters). The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect! The brown hardwood grip looks excellent with just small hits and bruises from wear. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel.
