2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger
M1937 Fliegerdolch. The unmarked blade on this one looks wonderful. It has a gorgeous mirror like finish with crossgrain the whole length of the blade. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates NM. It shows faint dots of age, doesn't get much better than this. The light brown pebbled leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel-based airplane grey plated scabbard looks wonderful. It depicts great details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and the two headless throat retaining screws remain intact. The Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule looks excellent. The pommel has has good gold gild, retained at 60%+. All of the components are generic and have matching patina. The wood based celluloid covered grip looks wonderful, no chips or cracks. The springy twisted wire wrap remains intact. Overall, a very nice late war example from Vet's family.
