M1937 Fliegerdolch by Eickhorn of Solingen. The blade on this one looks wonderful. The acid etched seated squirrel holding a broadsword “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The blade on this one rates NM. It's been cleaned at some point. There is just the most minor evidence of clouding, the tip is perfect, the fit is nice and tight and the dark acid etched Eickhorn maker mark is perfectly executed! The original blue pebbled leather buffer pad remains intact. The nickel plated Eickhorn scabbard is beautifully detailed with all of the oak leaves, acorns and pebbling while retaining great finish. The scabbard retains excellent patina and remains dent free! The throat retaining screws are unturned. The crossguard and pommel are in fine condition matching the scabbard bands in color and patina. The burnished crossguard shows excellent detail, in the eagles wings, chest and topside oak leaves and acorns. The ferrule is also nicely detailed. The burnished Eickhorn heart shaped pommel is in excellent condition. It has the hand enhancing to the sides and the swastikas retain excellent guilt! The warm yellow trylon grip is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The aluminum twisted wire wrap remains tightly secured and in excellent condition! Finally a nice original portepee finishes this nicely. Overall this is a fine piece to add to any collection? why not yours!
