Leopard Head Army Sword by Herder
A solid unmarked example by Herder! The33" blade on this one rates Exc+. There is some hits to the cutting edge like some kid in the 50's used this in a sword fight. The hits are not deep and more closely resemble roughness. There is the odd scuff but the tip looks great, the fit is tight, the blade remains nice and bright. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The black enamel painted scabbard shows the odd scratch, some oxidization and minor paint loss. The scabbard remains dent free and the throat is secured by two dome head screws. The solid brass hilt and P-guard are beautifully hand detailed! The leopard head looks awesome with bright red glass eyes and hand enhancing to the mane. The languet features an open winged right looking hand enhanced eagle. The black celluloid grip has no chips or cracks. The brass wire wrap is missing a few turns. Found in Angolia's Swords of Germany on page 86 lower.
