A Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by Alcoso of Solingen. The blade on this one has age stain and some pitting the worse being toward the guard. The sideways acid etched “Alcosa ACS Solingen” maker mark is nicely executed! The tip comes to a perfect point. Some crossgrain remains visible. The blade rates Exc/Exc+. The large black leather buffer pad remains intact. The Alcoso dent-free steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! Both original throat retaining screws remains intact. The zinc-alloy based, silver plated Alcoso eagle crossguard has minor wear. The early Alcoso pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns that are easily visible through the back burnishing perfectly matching the hilt in finish and patina. The orange, trylon grip on this one looks great. It is chip and crack-free. Included is an original set of hangers that arrived with this from the Vet's family. The appear to be period shortened.
