Nice aluminum based hilt with nice gilding. The 31" plated blade is very rough with hits to the cutting edge, pitting and oxidation. The blade is marked, sorry can't get a good pic. Real nice details to the hand enhanced open winged eagle. This pattern can be seen in Angolia's reference pg 118. The black enamel repainted scabbard has scuffs and some scratches but remains dent-free and there are no runners so the blade will slide out and is loose in there. This example with some wear to the high areas. The top of the hilt expertly covers the tang with hand enhanced oak-leaves and acorn details. This pattern is continued everywhere including the ferrule and backstrap. The obverse languet features a Wehrmacht eagle. The grip is black celluloid it is wrapped with triple aluminum wire. Nice project piece.
