A Model 1935 Heer Dolch by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The blade on this hilt looks great. The acid etched “Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The tip is ever so slightly bent. It comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates Exc with some stain and age. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based nickel-silver plated scabbard is gorgeous with wonderful age patina. It provides great detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. It remains completely dent free and the original throat retaining screws continue to remain intact. The nickel-silver plated 1st pattern Eickhorn crossguard provides crisp detail. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The deep orange trylon grip on this one shows minor wear but no cracks or chips. It shows age patina to the crevasses. Completely patching patina throughout. Included is a worn but serviceable portepee. A nice example from the Vet's family.
