M1937 Fliegerdolch. This one is for you guys who like variant grips! The scarce handle is hardwood under paint and finished with a double stranded wire. It really speaks to the period as manufacturers were scrambling try to get production out while being squeezed for raw materials. The result is many variations that collectors do so love to see. I've seen a few of these over the years. This displays nicely. It has a few bruises and paint chipping. Personally I like the paint loss as it reveals the wood underneath. There is some aluminum "stain" to the lower section where a portepee was at some point. The burnished hilt is complete with nice fittings that have all patinaed to a nice black! Look at those swas's with near 100% gilt! The blade is unmarked however Klaas made the majority of these. shows age and clouding. Scabbard is a dent free example with 1 side screw. No signs of abuse.
