A Treuedienst-Ehrenzeichen für Beamte Angestellte und Arbeiter im öffentlichen Dienst - 1.Stufe für 40 Jahre 1938. Instituted January 23,1938, the NSDAP Civil Faithful Service Medal was awarded to all officials, employees, and laborers at any level of the public service (local, regional or national) who completed 40 years of service. It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been gold gilded and contains black enamel work and was finished in a protective lacquer coating. The obverse features a pebbled pattée style cross that has an oak leaf wreath visible through the corners and a centrally placed black static swastika / “Fur Treue Dienste” (For Faithful Service) to the reverse. To the top is a soldered loop and ring which holds approximately 3 1/2 inches of folded cornflower blue rayon ribbon and a stitched on well working brass based gilded pin assembly. The award measures 1 5/8 inches wide and tall. The gold gilt shown some surface wear and retains that sparkle we so love to see. The enamel work is 100%. Beautiful!
