Early Post-War - 2nd Model Navy Dagger by WKC

M1938 – 2nd Model Kreigsmarine Offizier Dolch für Marinebeamte by WKC (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie.) of Solingen. So before I start describing, this was assembled immediately after surrender. There was a huge demand for souvenirs from US Vet's occupying Germany right after the war. Solingen workers assembled some daggers during this time to satisfy this demand. This navy was assembled during this time. All the parts EXCEPT the blade are pre 1945 manufacture. A post war produced blade was used to complete this. The plain un etched blade has extensive age gray. The stamped post-war knights head "WKC" maker mark was used. A leather buffer pad remains. The brass based scabbard has age and lots of small bumps and patina. It remains essentially dent-free. It retains both of its original side throat retaining screws. The crossguard and pommel provide matching patina and detail to the anchor and proud eagle perched on top. The push button works well. The grip is chip and crack-free.
