2nd Model Luftwaffe
An unmarked M1937 Fliegerdolch. The unmarked polished blade on this one has some age and old fingerprint stain yet still retains good crossgrain. It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The blade on this one rates a Exc+. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The airplane grey plated WKC style scabbard looks great! It depicts awesome details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and a headless throat retaining screw remain intact. Oh, wait, the screw it to the obverse! Yup, just evidence they had Monday's in the Third Reich too! We do see this sometimes. The generic fittings, crossguard, steel ferrule and pommel all look fine. The eagle has nice detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The pommel has those gilt swas's! The early chip and crack-free trylon grip has aged to a nice orange over time. The wire wrap remains tightly intact. Nice example from the Vet's family last week.
