Herr Sable. The "back to back squirrel" Eickhorn marked plated 31 inch blade on this one is larger than normal. I'll not call is Grosser size. The blade is NM. The tip is perfect and the fit is perfect. The blade rates NM. The buffer pad remains. The steel based, black enamel repainted scabbard has a dent just below the obverse suspension ring. It doesn't impair insertion. The throat retaining screws remains intact. The gilded hilt on this one has age darkening but I have not tried to clean it. Some gilt remains to the protected areas. It displays a lion head pommel with red glass eyes along with decorative leaf motif throughout. The langet shows crossed cannons. The wood based, celluloid covered grip looks good without chips or wire loss. Included is a nice period portepee.
