Canada - North Nova Scotia Highlanders Cap Badge
Canada, WWII - North Nova Scotia Highlanders Cap Badge with Tartan Backing. Founded in 1936, the North Nova Scotia Highlanders belonged to the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division and landed on Juno Beach near Bernières-sur-Mer on D-Day, June 6, 1944. It is constructed out of a white metal base. The round shaped obverse features a Canada Thistle above an “X” surrounded by “COS CHEUM NACH GABH TILLEADH” and “NNS Highlanders”. The hollow back reverse features both lugs with Tartan backing and prong. It measures 2 ¼ inches in diameter.
