Tagged - Paar Kragenspiegel für einen SA-Oberführer im Stab einer SA-Gruppe Tannenberg - c.1941. Collar tabs for the SA were introduced November 11, 1926. On May 20, 1941, ranks of Standartenführer and upwards began wearing small metal cyphers in the corner of their collar tabs to identify their unit. As of July 1, 1943, all collar tabs for ranks Oberführer up to and including Obergruppenführer were red with silver piping. They are constructed out of a lacquered tan buckram base that are covered in a red stitched/glued-on wool, with pinned-on rank insignia (Oberführer), one “T” cypher (Gruppe T = Tannenberg) and are piped in twisted silver/aluminum flatwire. The obverses feature dual oak leaf and acorn (two full acorns, two caps only) clusters, one “T” cypher, all on a red backing and are surrounded by triple stand flatwire twisted rope. The reverse shows multiple prongs, on top of the center lacquered buckram bases, that are surrounded by the folded over red wool covering, red stitching and are surrounded by that same flatwire twisted rope, with the ends tied to the top right corner. The one tab is RZM tagged by “RZM A4 902”. They each measure 1 11/16 inches wide by 2 3/4 inches tall. A gorgeous set!
