Italy, WWII – Italiana Pugnale Fascista Milizia Volontaria Sicurezza Nazionale (MVSN) Modello 1937. The quality plated blade on this example looks stunning. The plating gives the blade a wonderful mirror like finish. It has a solid fit and perfect tip. The blade rates Mint-. It only shows the slightest age and lightest surface scratches. The brass based, black enamel painted scabbard looks excellent. It has minor scratches yet retains 98%+ paint coverage and remains completely dent free. The brass based and gold gilded fittings looks great. It continues to hold both of its original throat retaining screws and the ball remains perfectly round. The scabbard sits perfectly up against the hilt. The hilt is constructed out of an aluminum base and retains that correct original aged silver matte finish. The eagle head pommel looks awesome and is nicely detailed. The black bakelite grip plates are in excellent condition, with perfect fits. The Fascist symbol is perfectly inserted and retains great detail. This one comes with the rarer maker marked leather hangers. Towards the top is a stylized “M” (Mussolini) and a belt clip which has an embossed proudly parched Roman eagle. A very nice example.
