M1938 - 2. Modell Reichsluftschutzbund (RLB) Dolch für Führer by Ernst Erich Witte of Solingen - Kroneck. The blade on this one looks excellent. The acid etched maker mark consisting of a crowned “Kroneck” and “W” in a diamond, above “Ernst Erich Witte Solingen” is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain is stunning as you shine it in the light, being visible all the way from the hilt to tip. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade on this one rates Exc++/NM. It has some age grey, spotting and surface scratches throughout. The original blue pebbled leather buffer pad remains intact. The undented steel based blue pebbled leather covered scabbard is in wonderful condition. It shows the odd pressure mark yet holds a near perfect seam and 98% coverage. The nickel-silver based scabbard fittings all look great, with wonderful patina that only time can create. The center band has a small wiggle to it. All five screws remain intact. The unique RLB brass eagle crossguard looks awesome. The brass pommel is in excellent condition as well. All early all matching patina throughout. The wood based leather covered grip is in excellent condition as well. It shows only minor scuffs and has two perfect seams. The 2nd Model RLB emblem looks excellent with 99%+ of its enamel intact. This one is sure to please.
