Dutch-Made - Army Officers Visor Cap Eagle
Dutch-Made - Wehrmacht-Heer Schirmmütze Adler für Offiziere. It is constructed out of hand embroidered rolled brown, rayon black and rolled, crunched and twisted silver bullion thread to a green wool backing. The obverse depicts a unique style army open winged eagle, clutching a wreathed swastika in its talons, above a green backing. The reverse shows part of the glued-on lacquered paper, the white buckram cloth and the stitched threads. It measures 2 3/4 inches wide by 1 3/8 inches tall. A very rare variant. Came from the veteran's family.
