A Transitional - Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Anton Wingen of Solingen - RZM M7/51 1938. The blade on this one is a looks great. The acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and “RZM M7/51” / knight in armor maker mark are all beautifully executed. The crossgrain is easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc++/NM. It shows age grey and scratches throughout. The sheet metal based brown enamel painted scabbard looks great. It shows minor spidering and some paint loss revealing the black base and aluminum flashing. It remains completely dent free and continues to hold 95% of its original painted finish. The steel based nickel-silver plated scabbard fittings looks good. The reverse top has some oxidization wear. The remains perfectly round. All four screws remain intact. The zinc-based nickel-silver crossguards look good as well. They feature minor bubbling throughout yet retain 98%+ plating coverage. The brown hardwood grip looks great. Typical surface bruises and two wee hairline cracks, one above the roundel and one to the top-right reverse. The solid aluminum eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. Overall, a nice transitional example.
