1927 Pattern SS/SA/NSDAP Mützen Adler by RZM 7 – Herman Schanzlin of Pforzheim. Introduced on November 4, 1927, allegedly designed by Adolf Hitler, this First/1927 Pattern cap eagle was worn on SS and SA personal until 1929/1931, then it was also worn by the NSDAP until January 1934. It is constructed out of a die stamped nickel-silver base that has been silver plated and contains black enamel paint work. The obverse features the first style national eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed black swastika within its talons. The hollow back reverse is maker marked: “7” / “RZM” and features two of three soldered-on tombak prongs. It measures 1 1/2 inches wide by 1 1/16 inches tall.
