Latvian SS Volunteer Runic Collar Tab

Latvia - SchutzStaffel Kragenspiegel. Worn on the right-hand side. Interesting to note that the Tab is the common BeVo woven SS EM/NCO Runic Type 3 (c.1940-45) with pinned on metal runes. It is constructed out of a lacquered buckram base that is covered in a BeVo woven silver/grey and black cotton thread to a black rayon backing, behind two aluminum SS runes. The parallelogram shaped obverse features two centrally placed aluminum SS runes in front of two silver/grey SS runes above a black background. The reverse shows four aluminum prongs, the center buckram base surrounded by the black rayon and cotton to the edges. It measures 2 inches wide by 1/2 inches tall. Desirable.
