Luftwaffe EM/NCO Flight Visor Cap by Carl Halfar
Luftwaffen Schirmmütze für Mannschaften und Unterführer der Fliegertruppe – Carl Halfar of Berlin. The visor is constructed of blue/grey wool with a horizontally ribbed and interwoven black mohair center-band and yellow (Flight) identifying waffenfarbe piping. All of the wool is in excellent condition. It has the correct silvered aluminum wreath and black and red painted winged cockade below the correct silvered aluminum Luftwaffe eagle insignia. The black leather chinstrap is secured with two black enameled buttons. It has one small tear to the right hand side. The black lacquered vulcanfiber visor peek has some pieces missing to the stitched on re-enforcement edge. The interior is lined in a light brown-red coated buckram to the base. The sides are made of a light brown plain weave cotton. The brown leather sweat-band has perforations to the forehead, is stiff, and is all intact. The top celluloid sweat diamond is 99% intact. It is maker marked, in gold foil: “Carl Halfar Uniform-Mützenfabrik Berlin NW 21 Quitzowstr. 27-29” and sized: “56”. Overall, a very nice example.
