Red Cross Membership Pin

Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Mitgliedsabzeichen. It is constructed out of a die struck nickel-silver base that has been silver washed and contains black and red enamel work. The obverse features the 1938 Red Cross (DRK) emblem which features a black closed winged eagle with a swastika to its chest clutching a red cross in its talons. The fullback reverse is patent marked “Ges. Gesch.” and has a soldered-on oval plate holding a well working vertical pin assembly. The enamel work is 99% intact. It measures approximately ½ inch wide by 9/16 inches tall. Rarer than the stickpin variant.
