Mountain Troop Sleeve Edelweiss
Gebirgsjäger Edelweiss Ärmelabzeichen c.1940-45. It is constructed out of a machine embroidered emerald green, white, yellow, light green cotton and silver-flatwire stitching to a emerald green rayon base. The oval shaped obverse features an edelweiss flower consisting of; thirteen petals, nine stamens, a stem and two leaves, surrounded by a white chained border, all on an emerald green background. There is some green a blue stitching to the exterior where it would have been attached to a uniform. The reverse shows stitching. It measures 2 3/16 inches wide by 2 5/8 inches tall. Likely NCO with the flatwire piece to the top.
