Army NCO/Officer Overseas Cap Eagle
3rd Pattern - M39 Wehrmacht-Heer Mützen Adler für Unteroffizer und Offiziere. Introduced February 17, 1934, the appropriate national eagle was to be worn on the overseas cap as the identifying symbol. It is constructed out of a machine embroidered silver flatwire and dark green cotton thread to an emerald green rayon backing. The obverse depicts a M39 3rd pattern silver army open winged eagle, clutching a wreathed swastika in its talons, above an emerald green backing. The reverse shows the stitching pattern. Cut off a uniform. It measures 3 3/8 inches wide by 1 9/16 inches high.
