Hitler Youth Knife by RZM M7/112
A Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by RZM M7/112 - Carl Wüsthof KG of Solingen. The thick ricassoed blade on this one looks excellent. The stamped “RZM M7/112” maker mark is wonderfully executed. The crossgrain is stunning running the full length of the blade. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates NM. It shows spotting throughout along with the typical runner marks. The black leather buffer pad remains intact. The sheet metal based black enamel painted scabbard is in wonderful condition. It remains completely dent-free. It has two runners. The black scabbard leather is in excellent condition. It has all of its rivets intact. The “stocko stocko” marked snap continues to work well. The zinc-based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 98%+ of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite. They are in perfect condition. Both solid zinc rivets remain tightly secured. The large HJ diamond retains 99%+ of its enamel. Overall a very nice late war example. This piece features the correct die-flaw as seen on page 855 of The Collector’s Guide to Hitler Youth Knives by Nathan Hogle.
