United Kingdom - Air Crew Europe Star
United Kingdom, Commonwealth, WWII - Air Crew Europe Star. Instituted May 1945, the Air Crew Europe Star was awarded to air crew who flew operations from the United Kingdom over Europe. It is constructed out of a die struck yellow copper zinc alloy base that has been bronze plated. The obverse features the Royal Cypher “GRI VI”, underneath a royal crown surrounded by “Air Crew Europe Star”, on a six-pointed star. The reverse is plain. The top has an integral eyelet and small ring which holds 6 inches of blue, yellow and black ribbon. The award measures 1 ½ inches wide by 1 ¾ inches tall.
