Bronze Infantry Assault Stickpin
A Bronze Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen. The Infantry Assault Badge in Bronze was awarded to motorized/mechanized infantry troops who had taken part in combat action on different days and met the required award criteria. It is constructed out of a die struck, tombac base that has been bronze washed. The oval shaped obverse depicts a rifle and bayonet below a Heer closed winged eagle clutching a mobile swastika within its talons. This is all surrounded by an acorn and oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The full back reverse correctly is attached to a pin. 1st Time for me! Never had one before. Certainly 100X rarer that the badge itself. Approx. 6mm wide. Worn of lapel of civilian clothes.
