Tagged - SA Sports / Wehrmannschaft Armband by RZM A4/189 - Karl Koch of Coburg. In 1939, the SA-Wehrmannschaft was formed to provide military training to SA members before and after their military service. It is constructed out of a bronze and brown machine embroidered rayon thread stitched to a white rayon roundel that is stitched to a red dyed cotton backing. The rectangular shaped obverse features a centrally placed bronze SA sports badge (which consists of; a vertical broad sword, in front of a mobile swastika, which is surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath that is tied together at the sides) above a white rayon roundel that is stitched, with white thread, to a rectangular red cotton backing. The top and bottom have been folded over and stitched together. The reverse is stitched together to size. The interior has a glued-on rectangular paper RZM tag that is numbered in black in: “No 137781” and A4 maker marked in purple: “308”, (Arnold Chr. of Coburg). It measures approximately 8 3/8 inches wide by 4 inches tall.
