Early Brass based Army Dagger by Eickhorn

Model 1935 - Heer Dolch by Carl Eickhorn. Here we have a completely correct 1st pattern Army Dagger. The tapered tang blade on this one has a dark and crisp acid etched early double oval "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed! The blade has a few dark spots the worse being towards the obverse tip. There are a few "nail catchers" to the edge that I've not stoned out. The fit is nice and tight! The blade rates a solid Exc+ with lots of grain. The brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The non-magnetic brass based and nickel-silver plated scabbard has some small hit the worse being to the mid-obverse. You may be able to forgive this considering the soft brass body. The original throat retaining screws remain tightly intact. All the hilt fitting are brass based. The crossguard provides good details throughout the straight head, wings, wreath and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with the proudly displayed oak leaves and acorns! The two tone grip has wee hits and normal wear as well as a crack to the reverse. Included is a well worn portepee.
