Reichsbund Deutscher Kleingartner
It always amazes me the amount of obscure pieces for all the various organizations. This award is constructed out of a multi-piece die struck nickel-silver base that has been silver washed and contains green pebbled enamel work. The obverse features a centrally placed and separately applied German national eagle with a mobile swastika on its chest above an oval green plate that reads "Reichsbund (top) Deutscher Kleingartner (bottom)" (Reichsbund German Allotment Gardeners). The reverse shows a full back and is maker marked "Franke & Reif Stuttgart" and has a soldered on well working round plate pin. Beautiful detail to the eagle and perfect enamel work! It measures approximately 1 1/16 of an inch tall by 11/16 of an inch wide. A wonderful and neat little piece here!
