Desirable early slant grip tapered tang Army here. The hilt is all early brass based and very heavy. The fit is nice and tight, the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade has suffered water damage and has pitting and darkening. The rare balloon-man maker mark nicely displays. The original brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The early silver plated dent-free scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The silver plated early eagle crossguard provides beautiful hand enhanced details throughout the eagle's head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The crossguard, and pommel are all brass based and all match in color, plating and its dark patina. The silver plating throughout remains in superb condition! The warm orange, trylon slant grip on this one is near perfect! No chips, cracks, hits, dirt or splits! This is a super example with all matching patina that I wouldn't let go!
