Certainly, the darling of the collecting community and the most requested maker. Böker made the best SS dagger of the period. Their philosophy was based solely on the principle that “The best is just good enough.” Advanced collectors know this and they snap 'em up faster than I can find them!
A Model 1933 Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch by Heinrich Böker & Co. of Solingen. The blade on this one is a stunning example! The acid etched “Meine Ehre Heißt Treue” motto (which shows the Textbook characteristics) and chestnut tree “Böker Solingen” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed. It's been cleaned at some point and some fine croassgrain remains. The tip is perfect as is the fit! The full blade rates Exc++. The black anodized scabbard is in good condition as well. The body is dent-free. It holds most of its' factory finiush. Both solid nickel scabbard fittings have wear. They match the scabbard fittings in color. The ball has been banged in. All four screws remain intact. The scabbard to crossguard fit is perfect. The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked “I” (Munich). The crossguards to grip fits are perfect. The dyed hardwood grip has normal wear. It has a chip to the lower right reverse and a smaller one to the lower left obverse. The solid nickel eagle has a perfect fit and retains beautiful detail. The SS runes retain 100% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. This piece comes a worn vertical hanger. The leather is marked but I don't remove these hangers anymore, just too fragile. The nickel-silver clip is marked “A DRGM” (Assmann). The top strap has been period replaced. We do often see this as the top strap is the weakest component.
