Luftwaffe Belt Buckle by Schmolle.1940

A Luftwaffe Koppelschloß. Here we have a steel based, single piece, die struck, blue painted 2nd pattern Luftwaffe belt buckle. The front depicts; a centrally placed Luftwaffe open winged eagle clutching a swastika in one of its talons, on a pebbled field, that is all encircled by a laurel leaf wreath, which then all lies on a smooth background. The buckle is in worn condition yet maintains good details. About 10% of the paint continues to remain intact to the obverse. The steel prongs and catch remain in great condition. Reverse is marked what I think is Schmolle 1940.
