Form) by 65 - Klein & Quenzer A.G. of Idar-Oberstein. nstituted September 1, 1939, the Gold Wound Badge was awarded for five or more times wounded, loss of limbs, total blindness, “loss of manhood”, or severe brain damage via hostile action. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc alloy base that has been gold gilded.. The oval shaped obverse depicts an embossed profile of a mobile swastika, above an M35 pattern helmet, which is above two crossed broad swords. This then lies on a pebbled field and is surrounded by a laurel leaf and berry wreath which is tied together at the bottom with a bow tie. The fullback reverse is PKZ marked: “65” and has a stamped hinge and catch with a steel round wire pin. All of the components remain in well-working condition. It retains 15% of its gold finish. The badge measures 1 3/4 inches high by 1 1/2 inches wide.
