Early, 1st Model Luftwaffe Dagger by Alcoso

1st Model (1934/35) Luftwaffe Fliegerdolch/Borddolch by Alcoso of Solingen. The plated, double edged, spear point 12 inch long blade on this one looks excellent. The etched Scales, Alcoso Solingen” maker mark and stamped proof mark are both beautifully executed. The plating gives it a nice mirror like finish. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit remains nice and tight. The blade rates NM. It shows runner marks mostly towards the tip and one wee nail catcher. The blue pebbled leather buffer pad remains in place. The scabbard is constructed out of a steel sheet metal base that has been covered in a blue textured leather. The leather is in good condition with 99.9% intact. The solid nickel-silver fittings look excellent. All of the five screws remain intact. This has been cleaned at some point and now has nice patina. The chain is solid nickel-silver. The chain consists of 8 top ringlets and has 13 lower, connected to a well working early unmarked clip. The crossguard and pommel top are in wonderful condition with separately inserted brass sun wheel swastikas. They've not been polished down as so many of these are. 100% of the silver remains between the swas. legs. The grip is wood based and covered in a blue leather. It only has the odd scuff. The triple brass wire wrap remains completely intact. A wonderful early example!
