Territorial Force Imperial Service Badge. Instituted January 1910, the Imperial Service Badge which was awarded to members of the Territorial Force who undertook liability in the event of a national emergency, to serve in any place outside the United Kingdom. It is constructed out of a die struck cupro-nickel / white-metal base. The obverse features a horizontal bar which reads: “Imperial Service”, on a textured background with a smooth border all underneath a royal crown. The fullback reverse features a soldered-on round wire catch, soldered-on round barrel hinge and well working pin assembly. It measures 1 5/8 inches wide by 1 inch tall.
