A Model 1934 - Schutzstaffel Ehrendolch mit Widmung by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. These were presented to members of the SS who took part in “The Night of the Long Knives” and later to those who displayed unquestionable loyalty to H. Himmler.

The blade on this one is good. The acid etched “Meine Ehere Heißt Treue” motto, “In Herzlicher Freundschaft, H. Himmler” inscription and smooth tail “Carl Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark are all crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain runs the entire length of the blade and remains visible as you shine it in the light. The tip comes to a sharp point and the blade to crossguard fit is perfect. The blade rates an Exc++. There is minor pitting, age grey and spotting throughout. It has also been cleaned leaving fine lengthways scratches. The steel based, black anodized scabbard is the correct style we see with Himmler/Röhm examples. It shows minor oxidization spotting and someone cleaned the body as well, leaving fine lengthways scratches. It remains completely dent free and traces of lacquer remain. The solid nickel-silver scalloped scabbard fittings look great. The ball remains perfectly round and all four screws remain intact. The solid nickel-silver crossguards are again the correct style and are in excellent condition. The crossguard is bench marked “4”. The Eickhorn sha black died hardwood grip shows many flake chips to the edges and one hairline crack above the roundel. The solid nickel “high necked” eagle looks excellent with a perfect fit. The SS runes retain 99%+ of its enamel and also has perfect fit. Completely Textbook construction for a Himmler. If you’ve been in the market, you know how tough these are to come across.
