Buttonhole - Nationalsozialistische Parteiabzeichen (c. 1935-39) by RZM M1/72 - Fritz Zimmermann of Stuttgart. Introduced in the late 1920’s, the NSDAP Membership Badge was available for private purchase / given (HJ/BDM) to individuals after they had joined the NSDAP. It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been silver washed and contains red, white and black enamel work behind a clear lacquer coating. The round shaped obverse depicts a black mobile swastika on a white backing, encircled by: “NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHE - D.A.P.” on a red translucent pebbled backing. The slightly concave reverse features a soldered-on buttonhole assembly and is maker marked “RZM M1/72”. Minor push in to the buttonhole device. The enamel work remains 98% intact. It measures 15/16 of an inch in diameter. A nice variation.
