SS-Sicherheitsdienst Kragenspiegel – c.1929-34. The SS-Sicherheitsdienst used a plain right collar tab with rank shown on the left collar tab. Later this type (without black in the piping) was used from ranks Untersturmführer to Obersturmbannführer. It is constructed out of a tan lacquered buckram base that is covered in a black wool that is piped in twisted aluminum flatwire a black rayon backing. The parallelogram shaped obverse a plain black piped in silver. The reverse shows the center buckram base surrounded by the black wool and silver piping. It measures 2 inches wide by 1/2 inches tall.
