Model 1933 Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch by Heinrich Böker & Co. of Solingen. The most desirable maker of SS daggers, known for their quality and slogan “The best is just good enough.”. . The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched “Meine Ehre Heißt Treue” motto looks great with textbook characteristics and the chestnut tree “Böker Solingen” maker mark are both dark and nicely executed. The crossgrain looks great as you shine it in the light. The blade is nicely seated up against the hilt and the and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc++. It has been cleaned and there is spotting and age grey throughout. The steel based black anodized scabbard looks great. It has some paint pitting spots to the obverse, one scratch to the edge and the slightest pressure marks. The scalloped nickel-silver based scabbard fittings are in nice condition. The ball remains perfectly round. All four screws remain intact. The one edge of the fitting is split with a pushed screw. The scabbard to crossguard fit is perfect. The nickel-silver crossguards look excellent as well. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamp “I” (Munich). The black hardwood grip looks good. It appears as through someone used this as a hammer with nail head marks below the eagle and to the reverse top. There is also a hairline crack above the roundel. The solid nickel-silver eagle is nicely detailed with a perfect fit. The SS roundel retains 90%+ of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. Correct configuration, beautiful fits throughout and its a desirable maker.
