It is constructed out of a cast galvanized aluminum composition that has been black burnished. The obverse features a national eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika in its talons. The semi-hollow back reverse features three stud (specific for 72.0cm car eagle) locations with broken off screw nipples. It is maker marked to the wing: “PS” within a circle (Pinter Schwelm), above “LOK 720” (Lokomotive 72.0cm), above “GAL-Mg-Si” (Galvanized Aluminum, Mg=Magnesium, Si=Silicon). In between the talons it is marked “RZA 7” (Reichsbahn-Zentralamt 7) above “BLN” (Berlin). The head is marked, not necessary but nice to see. The whole patina is very dark.
