Killer Early Ground R?hm Haenel SA

Well I try every show to buy the best SA I can find. This one for sure is a great one. If you appreciate wonderful wood grains this is for you. Haenel made a superior product and they truly deserve a premium. Like Kobers these guys were located in the Shul area that was famous for gun production and made some terrific gun stocks and some of the best SA grips produced. Blade is a bright example with no problems. Just light in/out marks. Motto is well executed and jet black. About 95% of the R?hm inscription has been removed in what I call a backyard job. It was done roughly adding character! What I really like here though is that, as with some of Haenel's the inscription is distinct, and the 5% remaining is black and jumps out at you! Very cool and certainly makes for the best display pieces. The blade rates an Exc++/NM with excellent crossgrain. Scabbard body is anodized with no dents. It shows wear to the edges and some lacquer remains. The fittings show light period wear and the ball is almost perfect. The fittings retain all their screws. The grip is real nice having nice district grain as I expect to see on these. No chips just a few small marks from normal wear. Eagle is perfect and roundel retains 100% of enamel. The handle shoulders and radii nicely fit the solid nickel guards. The crossguard is stamped "Th". Blade is perfectly set into the crossguard. All the patina matches everywhere. All the fits are there! An SA that makes people stop!!!
