Early August Bickel NSKK Dagger

A recent MAX pickup. The blade on this one looks good. The crossgrain runs half the length of the blade and looks great against the light. The fit is nice and tight. The dark acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and August Bickel maker mark are beautifully executed! The blade rates Exc+. There is some age grey throughout, light runner marks and the tip is slightly dulled and repointed. The black scabbard looks good. It looks to be post-war reblued, yet it remains completely dent free! There is some slight oxidization towards the scabbard fittings. The solid nickel scabbard fittings are in excellent condition! The ball remains perfectly round and all four screws remain intact! The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect. The solid nickel crossguards are also in excellent condition matching the scabbard fittings in color and wear. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Fr" (Franken). The grip / crossguard fits are perfect! The lacquered multi-toned brown hardwood grip has a few hairlines from shrinkage over time. It still has a nice finish to it. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel! A solid piece!
